About the Role:

With good business growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic Production Manager to oversee efficient plant operations related to raw materials, meat processing, production and packing. You will manage and monitor the Production team and ensure individual and team performance meets company expectations. You will also identify areas of capital improvement and provide factual data to justify implementation.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Ensures all activities are carried out safely by staff and meet the minimum requirements of the Health and Safety in Employment Act and are in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policies
- To manage and monitor all reporting staff, nurturing their development and ensuring individual and team performance meets Company expectations
- Oversee efficient plant operations related to raw materials, meat processing, production and packing
- Ensures area KPI's are monitored and improvements implemented
- Develop tools for staff to monitor process performance
- Ensure staff rosters are set providing efficient resource for all areas
- Ensure process preventative maintenance is managed to minimise unplanned downtime
- Identify areas of capital improvement and provide factual data to justify implementation
- Identify areas for cost savings and drive the improvement
- Support the Site Manager and Project Manager in capital projects
- Ensure new process installations are optimised


Skills and Experience:

- Previous experience in Production Planning and managing a food manufacturing facility; ideally Pet Food
- Pays close attention to detail
- High level of numeracy and literacy
- Effective trouble shooting and root cause analysis
- Developing and managing a high performing team
